About My Lichess Online Analyzer & Developer - My Lichess Online Analyzer (MyLOA)

My Lichess Online Analyzer (MyLOA) is a desktop tool that helps serious chess players understand how they actually play their openings in online games. Instead of checking games one by one, MyLOA groups your Lichess and (with Pro) chess.com games by ECO code and shows how often you reach each line and how well you score there.

This About page explains why MyLOA was created, what problem it solves for practical training, and who develops and maintains the software and opening books.
Chessboard and laptop showing opening analysis
MyLOA started as a personal side project by a chess enthusiast who wanted a faster way to see how his openings were performing on Lichess. The first version was a simple tool that imported games and grouped them by ECO, focusing only on the opening phase.

Over time, it evolved into a full desktop application. The Lichess-only version was released first, giving players a clear overview of their most played openings and typical results from each position.
Later, MyLOA Pro was introduced with support for chess.com imports, additional statistics, and the option to use professional opening books built from real games and engine-checked key lines. Development is ongoing: performance improvements, better ECO grouping, and new features are released regularly.

Software developer working on a chess analysis tool at a laptop
MyLOA is developed and maintained by a single independent developer (placeholder name), who combines a long-standing interest in chess with a professional background in software engineering. As a club-level player and occasional coach, the developer wanted a tool that reflects how real players train and improve their openings, not just how engines evaluate positions.

The focus behind every feature is practical usability: clear statistics, reproducible results, and a workflow that fits around busy lives. Accuracy is prioritized over flashy visuals, and feedback from users is regularly incorporated into new versions and opening book updates.
The long-term vision for MyLOA is to stay a focused, reliable tool for understanding your openings, not a general-purpose engine GUI. Planned directions include faster bulk analysis on large databases, richer statistics around typical mistakes in specific ECO codes, and a wider selection of opening books for both club and professional players.

All roadmap ideas are subject to change, and features may be adjusted or reprioritized based on technical constraints and user feedback. The goal is to evolve MyLOA steadily while keeping it stable and easy to use.
